Why Am I Getting A “Mailing List Not Active” Error, When I Test My Account By Opting-In To My List? Follow
If while testing your Easiest System Ever account (by opting into one of your opt-in pages), you receive A “Mailing List Not Active” error (see below).
It is typically because:
- You entered an incorrect AWeber Unique List ID. Or...
- You accidentally entered a space before or after your list ID.
In order to fix this:
Log on to your Easiest System Ever account and look for the section labeled “MY NICHE FUNNELS” on the left side. Click the niche funnel you would like to fix.
In this example, we’ll look at the Home Business Niche.
This will open the screen labeled “Instant Funnels” and “Custom Funnels”.
Click on “Instant Funnels”.
This will load all of your Instant Funnels that were created during your setup (there should be 10 of them).
From here you may have to scroll to the right a bit and look for ‘Change Autoresponder’
Then click on ‘Change Autoresponder’ and a slide out window will appear.
You should then see your Unique List ID. If your unique list ID doesn’t start with ‘awlist’ (and you are using AWeber), then you have the wrong list ID and it needs to be changed.
The example below has the correct AWeber unique list ID format.
NOTE: Do NOT use awlist1234567 (this is only an example).
(AGAIN: Do NOT use awlist1234567 - this is JUST AN EXAMPLE.)
If the unique list ID is there, and it begins with ‘awlist’ (like the example above) double check for a space before or after it. Sometimes copy & pasting information inserts unintended spaces.
If you do not see the ‘awlist’ there and you typed in any other info you will need to obtain YOUR AWeber unique list ID.
NOTE: If you need to obtain your unique list ID from AWeber, please leave the current page you’re on inside of ESE OPEN, as we’ll need to come back to it in just a moment.
HERE’S HOW TO LOCATE YOUR AWEBER UNIQUE LIST ID:
Your “Unique List ID” can be found by first signing into your AWeber Account.
Once inside, select the dropdown box called “List” and then choose the appropriate list name (see below).
In the event that we completed your set up, your list name should look something like one of these, depending on your niche.
- ESE - homebusiness
- ESE - weightloss
- ESE - persdev
Once you’ve located and selected your list, your next step will be to ‘hover’ your mouse over list options. Then select ‘List Settings’ from the dropdown.
Your Unique List ID can be found under List Options, Basic Settings as shown below.
The Unique List ID should begin with ‘awlist’ and have a series of numbers after it. (i.e. awlist123465). <--- DO NOT USE.
Then you should WRITE DOWN that unique list ID. Using your computer to copy/paste may add additional spaces. It’s best to write it down.
Go back to your ESE account to the “Change Autoresponders” screen which you should still have open (see below), and type in YOUR unique list ID into the field. Make sure no spaces are before or after it.
Click Save Changes (be careful not to click ‘Help’).
